Progress vs. Pandering

Patients who present for therapy and who self-identify as members of a marginalized population often expect the therapist to reinforce their "victim" status.

Unfortunately there are many therapists who not only pander to this pathological position, but brand themselves as compassionate sympathizers, endorsing the very pathology that often undermines their patients' depression, anxiety, and addictions.

It is only when patients realize that, yes, a victimstance mentality is one option available to them, but that there are also other ways to view themselves, that they are able to make a fundamental shift toward happiness and self-realization.

Putting patients in control of their state of being, and consequently their choices and behaviors through improved self-awareness, is the beginning of their transformation from victim to victor.

I work remotely, or in-person. Feel free to contact me to schedule a consultation for yourself, a loved one, or a patient seeking another avenue toward fulfilment.
